Unfortunately due to the current venue restrictions in place for Regional Victoria, we have had to postpone our Battle of the Bands event to 2022.
Applications close Friday 8th October
Battle of the Bands is an annual music competition that gives young people an opportunity to perform and gain exposure in a safe and supportive environment while competing against their peers for a $500 prize.
The competition is open to bands, soloists and duos in any style of music including acoustic acts, hip hop and electronic, originals or covers.
The winner of the 2021 Battle of the Bands takes home a generous $500 to put towards recording time, rehearsal spaces, new equipment or instruments and will be put on a short list of artists for future Freeza and community events.
Battle of the Bands is organised by Council’s FReeZA Committee, Eight Metre Speaker, and will be held on Friday 29th October at the Theatre Royal, Castlemaine.
To be eligible to enter, artists must be aged between 12 and 25 years and live, work or play in Central Victoria.
Application forms can be collected and returned at Castlemaine Library, Castlemaine Secondary College reception, Mount Alexander Shire Civic Centre Reception and Mondo Lounge Youth Space on a Friday and Wednesday afternoon.
