Come along to Youth Mental Health First Aid training where you’ll learn:
- The difference between normal adolescent development and a developing mental health problem
- How to have open conversations with young people
- Signs and symptoms of possible mental health problems
- Where to seek further help.
Over 2 face-to-face sessions—plus approx. 5 hours of self-directed online learning—you’ll learn all the above, receive take home resources, meet other parents, and enjoy a delicious meal.
Details regarding accessing the online components of the course will be emailed to participants after booking.

YMHFA REFRESHER COURSE
MAY 2026
This refresher course allows people who have completed a 14-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course to improve their knowledge and skills.
For Accredited MHFAiders, this course offers an opportunity to extend their accreditation for a further 3 years.
THIS COURSE WILL HELP YOU:
- Gain an understanding of the latest research in the mental health field
- Learn the 3 key actions for helping someone feeling suicidal
- Work through complex mental health first aid interactions
- Practice mental health first aid skills
This is a 5-hour educational course, not a therapy or support group.
Participants will receive take-home resources and morning tea and lunch will be provided.
