Eight Metre Speaker is a committee of young people that develop, plan and run events for 12- 25 year olds in Mount Alexander Shire. The events run can range from live music gigs, skate and BMX competitions, festivals, underage dance events, to film screenings and art exhibitions.
The Young Makers Market is an opportunity for young people to express their creativity.
Young people aged 10-25 can come and sell their homemade food, horticulture, cosmetics, art and crafts and more. Products have to have created or altered yourself!
The Youth Advisory Group is a group of local young people that provide input into Council decisions, strategies and plans and help Council better engage with youngsters.

Mount Alexander Shire Council’s Over the Rainbow Committee (OTR) is a committee of young people that develop, plan and deliver youth LGBTQIA+ events, programs, consultations and training opportunities for 12-25 year olds residing in Mount Alexander Shire. The committee also act in an advocacy / advisory role for Mount Alexander Shire Council and other external organisations for matters relating to, and affecting, the LGBTQIA+ youth community.
