Help us shine a spotlight on the young people in our Shire who are making a difference by nominating anyone aged 12 to 25 for an award ✨️
The Mount Alexander Shire Youth Awards recognise and celebrate young people across a range of unique categories and help to inspire future young people to make a positive impact in their community.
The awards are open to anyone aged between 12 and 25 who live, work, study or play in Mount Alexander Shire by recognising the diverse range of personal and community achievements of local young people through five different award categories.
The 2026 Youth Award categories are:
Social Impact – acknowledges a young person making a positive impact on the people around them.
Environment – recognises a young person bringing a positive voice to the issue of the environment.
Sport and Recreation – celebrates a young person making a positive difference to their club or sporting environment.
Art & Music – recognises a young person making a positive contribution to the arts and music.
Industry – acknowledges a young person making a positive contribution to an industry or workplace.
Everyone in our community benefits when young people feel included, seen, and valued 🫶
The Youth Awards are an important event on the Shire calendar, and we look forward to celebrating our young
people together!
Nominations for the awards close at 11:59pm on Monday 2nd of November.
To nominate, visit the Council programs / event section of www.mountalexandershireyouth.com.au or pick up a nomination form from the Civic Centre, Castlemaine Library and Castlemaine Secondary College.
Winners will be announced at a free Youth Awards Festival in Castlemaine on Friday 27th of November. Winners will receive a certificate and prize!
